Footwear Quality Engineer

Responsible for material, in-process and final shipment quality control according to IMPACTIVA’s Inspection Manual Must be capable of learning and executing on a day-to-day basis very rigorous processes and procedures Responsible for generating his/her own inspection reports using a laptop Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with all customer and shoe factory personnel (including top management and the owners) and fellow TM’s (Team Members) Required Knowledge, Traits and Skills Knowledge Minimum 5 years of experience in the footwear industry including strong exposures to: Different shoe construction types Different leather types Operation sequence of upper making and full shoe Last measurement Sample inspection and final approval Material quality control (Soles, components, accessories and non-leather materials in upper making) Cutting die and pre-production Full shoe physical and chemical testing

AQL (Accepted Quality Level) sample plans Final shipment inspection and manual test Full shoe understanding (from shoe making technical skills to defects’ classification) including finishing and problem solving skills Footwear factory work experience Final quality control inspection Ability to identify esthetic, fitting, functionality and finishing Traits Honesty and ethics beyond question Self-motivated and ability to be self-led as will mostly work without supervision Self-confidence to work outside their home city and country as per business needs Self-confidence to withstand pressures from Factories / Trading Companies / Clients Skills English proficiency (written and spoken) Computer proficiency (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel) People skills (ability to influence factory leadership via creating positive relationships) Risk analysis and decision making skills Ability to coach technicians
